Good Night, Good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow
Can't remember when, can't remember what. But this quote still remains etched in my mind. With that, I keep it together with the rest of my childhood memories. :)

Yes, I know the SYOG is in town. Unfortunately, with the starting of a new academic term, I have not been catching up with the news except that I have participated in three torch bearers' events in various parts of Singapore, attended the SYOG opening and have bought tickets to the closing.
As part of making it history, I have put the cost aside, and bought better tickets for my siblings to go to the closing with me. Yup, it's a $160 in all. It's not cheap, considering that I am still a full time student with that little money I saved from work. But I guess, that's all that I could do for my sister and brothers on behalf of my parents. All in the name of a sister! Besides, it's easier to earn that $160 back more than excluding my YOG-crazy siblings in the show. They too, deserve an opportunity to watch the show, even if my parents aren't going to be free on such important day.
Major events have never failed to create an impact in the citizens. In the case of the SYOG, it did in some way, bonded Singaporeans together, be it positive or negative. Though I am not that updated, I am aware that the Singapore soccer team managed to make it to the semi-finals with a match tonight at Jalan Besar Stadium. While tickets are already sold out, there will be a live telecast on Channel 5 at 8:20PM. For a small nation like Singapore, it is remarkable to make it thus far. Way to go Singapore! :)
There have been a couple of negative YOG news flying around in STOMP and even the national papers. I too, have my personal encounter of having a badly produced torchlight dove. There was no QC and was covered with only bits of silicon that are definitely not part of a standard procedure (the silicon is glued in different manner, some on top of the wings, some below, some on both sides). I thought it was a humiliation to receive a broken dove wing when it represents Peace. Does that mean that Singapore is not sincere in keeping Peace in Singapore and the world? Oh well.
Nevertheless, it is indeed an honor for Singapore to be the first nation to host the YOG in my opinion, whether good or bad. Ultimately, people will remember us as the FIRST nation to do so, just like Athens, Greece being the first nation to host the modern day Olympics Games in 1869. Whether you like it or not, such impact will be made obvious 100 years later when people start tracing back to where it first began. ;)

Completed a new TVB series just last night. Had been putting dramas on hold for the longest time that I can ever remember. I thought it was a good drama with Science-Fic investigation storyline. Of cuz, many things that they have said or experimented are like too true to be of coincidence, like how lights from the Symphony of Lights could be reflected to the housing estates etc. Other than mysteries in the show, there are lives affected too. I guess, the issue between the rich and the poor impacted me in one way or another, whether I like it or not. My parents aren't that much educated, but at least I agree that they are the best parents in the world that I can have. Without my dad, I won't have grown up to be who I am today, with some degree of independence, stay forward looking and even sense of maturity.
Sometimes, being rich makes one miss out a lot of growth, opportunities and fun. It's when restrictions concerning pride sinks in, considering some jobs lesser human that the others. My parents are bus drivers. They don't earn much, just enough to feed a family of 6. While you parents are still sleeping, or relaxing themselves on weekends, my parents are working. Unlike office jobs, my dad doesn't have free days., unless no business. On Sundays, they only return home after 11pm, sometimes even closer to 1am in the morning. Because of circumstances, they aren't given that opportunity to love studying when they were younger. But that doesn't mean that they will be (or even have to) be looked down upon. Today, I'm proud to say that I have a dad who taught me well as a person.
And nope, you will be wrong if you think that I watch it because of a particular somebody in the show. I'm a fan of nobody. :p

Visited the boy's friend at a community hospital on National Day. To cut the long story short, her brain decided to stop functioning properly one fine day and went into deep sleep for weeks. She's now on her road to recovery though.
Sometimes I just couldn't help but salute at what our brain can do to us.
It is capable of doing things we never thought could have happened to us. The brain is like a central processing unit of a machine, coupled with the power from our heartbeat. When any of those fail, the machine falls sick.
With partial damage of the left brain, that friend is now living in her own world of discovery. As family and friends, we could only try to adapt to a new set of behavioral patterns as she is unable to express herself properly.
Nevertheless, I hope her a speedy recovery and for her mum to stay stronger by each day.
At the very least, I can see that the incident has made her appreciate her mum even more together. The obstacle did draw their relationship to a much closer level.
Kinship - the love that will never abandon you.
