Finally had my movie week marathon that I long missed. Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 - The Squeakquel is definitely for those who are much in love with the cute little chipmunks. Storyline is almost non-existent in the movie. Or perhaps, it's just an everyday, 'kid, you got to go to school' scenario. Yes, school bullying is involved in the movie. But nope, it's not addressed to in the movie. Bully-bully, hidden potential found in victim, and end of bullying. For weird reasons, the chipettes arrived at uncle Ian's old office building, looking for him, not knowing that the self-centered man was long being fired. The rest of the story is just ridiculous and it seems so badly tied up together. I shan't say more in case it become a spoiler. Out of a scale of 10, I won't give it more than 5 for its effort. The songs isn't as nice as that of Chipmunks 1 either. That was another big disappointment. :(
On a side note, I have received a new bicycle for Christmas this year! Because of it, I got on my first night cycling that same night. Now I get to go cycling whenever I feel like it! ;)

2009 is the year of thunders and storms.
This year I have traveled far. 3 trips in a year is hurting my pockets even though I didn't have to pay for the air fare for two. I've spent at least $3k away from the sum of my trips at least based on my standard budget set aside per trip. Yes, I could have done a lot more with that 3k, but I went traveling. Could be seen as a waste of money, yet on the other, I was exposed to the culture, environment and more importantly to the differences that people live in other parts of the world. Traveling broadens my horizon. My parents may not be able to support my love for travel *I won't want their money even if they could afford it*, but at least I am proud to say that I live with my own means, to sustain my hobby, our hobby.
As couples, we used to quarrel when we go traveling because of our differences, yet today, we remained strong, if not stronger than before. Going on more trips made us complement each other today. He never fail to help me pack my toiletries, even if I have brought one myself. Because of my bad habit, he had to switch on dim lights for me at night so that I could sleep better. Him, being a lazy person, had me making him pop vitamin C, and moisturize his skin when we were at winter. I know he won't be able to forget me having to scream at him for waking up late when we were on F&E trips. I don't like to waste time sleeping when I travel. :P
Apart from trips, we have grown to be more sensitive and observant towards each other.
Studies had been good this year as my CAP somewhat improves. Stepping down from NVAC gives me more time to study when I feel bored and empty. :x Project work was a nightmare when you have team mates who basically couldn't do anything. -__-" Luckily for me, I had others who are always there to help me.
As the economy wasn't that good this year, I found myself jobless during the holidays. :( With the expected bad economy, I jumped into stocks investing with the help of my mum since I didn't have an account then. Yes! I paid for my own shares. Mum was happy too as she rode on what I've bought and earn quite a bit. And nope, I haven't let go of the stock. After my exams in Dec, I have signed up for my very own account for my own use. :)
Family wise, we have been closer than ever as my siblings truly grew up. Many things have happened at home, and resolved at home. Certain issues are brought to my attention that 'Hey! Times have changed.'. Oh well, it's only a matter of time that she grew up and understand what I really meant. Going on trips made me realized how much I am being loved at home. Even when daddy couldn't send me to the airport, he'll call me before I board the plane to just listen to me. Mum called this time too.

Came back from Japan last Sunday. Was a fruitful trip. Didn't buy much since things are much more expensive there. My mum doesn't want to see me buying a lot of stuff for people around me again. So yeah.. I'm sorry if you are waiting for a present from me. My mum warned me, you see. Even though money is coming out of my own pockets. :p
Learnt quite a fair bit about life during the trip which I will later sum up in my 2009 reflections. :) I spent an early white christmas there, making Christmas in Singapore so dull. In fact, I spent my xmas eve in bed cuz I was sick. Nope, not H1N1, it's just a simple fever caused by my sore throat due to the amount of junk food I have taken when my parents were away. Now, I am working towards my goal of hitting Shanghai World Expo 2010 next August!
If you have realised, we have finally gotten a domain for ourselves and I had been drawing. LOL! Pardon me, I'm a bad artist. It's 2pm now. A dreadful wedding dinner is to come in just hours. Everyone is complaining about the date, including my grandparents. Wonderful! It seems like we are all not really that interested in attending. Oh well ~
Nevertheless, I hope that you do have a wonderful xmas 2009! :)

Rosy Business has swept a number of awards at the TVB Awards 2009 including the best actress and actor. The show is about people, it's about the struggle to live, it's about family. According to 《三字经》, 养不教,父之过, parents are responsible for the upbringing of the children. It is also one of the reason why I am a little strict to my siblings sometimes. I don't want them to grow up materialistic, and spoilt especially in the kind of society that we have in Singapore today. Parents always want the best for their children, as long as it is within their limits. My parents may not be perfect, sometimes I grumbled about their flaws too. But when I ask for help, they will always be there for me.
The drama is more than just family. It's about livelihood. It's about having the courage to fight for what we think is right. 凡事 问心无愧。While we are living well, there are people around us who might be less fortunate, still struggling to live on. Bearing that in mind, we won't grumble about what we don't have anymore.

Brought my two bros to the Manpuku Japanese Gourmet Town at Tampines One some time ago for dinner. Because of my family's economic condition, it is almost impossible for us to dine at some shopping malls as a family. Brought them out that fateful day for exposure. Small sister wasn't home at that point of time when we were setting off.
Have previously been to the place before and I love the udon there. :p Food can be a little expensive though. for a dinner for 4, we have spent about $80. There is no service charge though. Try to be there early if you would like to avoid the queue.
Yakitori: Better consumed when hot.
Tomato rice: average yet expensive considering the amount of rice.
Kimchi Seafood Udon: smooth noodles that is not too floury like those of Sakae. Come with a lot of seafood at a price comparable to the tomato rice.
The Japanese Gourmet Town is like a food court that is Japanese themed with Maché type of payment. Each guest is given a payment card that we have to present to the counter when purchasing our food and for payment.
