Finally got a chance to try Korean BBQ the other day. Ju Shin Jung is known for it's limited but expensive menu. We decided to go for the lunch buffet at $29++ per pax (buffets only available at lunch and ends at 3pm). It comes with 3 kinds of pork + 1 kind of chicken.
Came across a bit of mixed review from the internet before I went, but that didn't spoil the whole atmosphere there. True, the service crews are mostly Chinese, if not all of them. But they are really good! Those people are very attentive, coming to my table a few times to check out our BBQ-ed meat, probably worrying that the meat will overcook? It gets a little annoying after a while since I have a habit of stop eating whenever I'm being served. Towards the end, I gave up and continue eating.
As usual, it came with alot of side dishes. The vegetables are all fresh and cruchy. I particularly like the lettuce. =P The mashed potato was too sweet for my liking though (togi can do better than that).
Like I have mentioned earlier, we don't even have to bother about the bbq meat as it was well taken care of by the service crew.
For each pax, there is a lunch special that we can order from. As I do not like bibimbap to even begin with, I shall not comment about my order. =x The other lunch special that we had was the saba fish. I find the fish too fishy though (could be just me since I am very particular about the fishy smell).
Ended the lunch with a complimentary cup of sweet ginger tea + watermelon.
It was a satisfying meal in general with the service and all. I also felt sinful for having so much meat that day, so much so that I ended up clearing the vegetables on the table too. LOL! But then again, their vegetables are really nice! ;)
After service charges + taxes, the bill may cost up to $35 per person. For a student like me, this can only be a once in a blue moon kind of lunch.
Warning: the lunch can make you too full to even walk.
